I don’t understand…

brandongreene:

How can people who have no connection to the Yankees (favorite team in the AL or AL East) hate on the them?

What do they do that’s so wrong? They spend money to make their team better… Heck, they have many homegrown players as well (Cano, Jeter, Posada, Rivera, Robertson, Hughes, Montero, Romine, Betances, Joba, Gardner, and many more).

So, why do people hate a team that actually wants to improve? They play in one of the most competitive markets in MLB, are they just supposed to sit back and watch free agents go elsewhere? In the end, it comes down to the players to choose their destination (I.E. Cliff Lee).

If you hate the media exposure they get (ESPN), hate on ESPN. They know reporting a “small” detail with the Yankees is going to get more buzz than something involving the Mariners. (Sorry Mariners fans, just need an example).

I’m a Braves fan and I wish they had owners that would actually open their wallet and improve the team.

I understand hating them is the “cool” thing to do, but their fans have feelings and some of the stuff I’m seeing tonight is sickening.

Baseball shouldn’t be a hate filled game… (Even if it is joking around, it’s awful)

I just wish we had more sophisticated fans, if you want to rage with violence, watch football. Baseball is a calm, thinking game.

This goes for all teams, not just the Yankees. (I would have done this when the Braves lost, but it would have seemed “biased”.)

Money is the root of all evil, therefore the Yankees are evil.

No, but really. This. I never had a hatred for the Yankees, and I was pretty sick of being called out on it. “The cool thing to do” pretty much explains that mentality.
