San Francisco Giants 2011 Walk-off Wins, #11 — August 27, Jeff Keppinger

Duane Kuiper: “Swing and a shot… Over Altuve! Here’s the throw home… It…is… OVER! And Jeff Keppinger once again beats his own team, and he does it with a base hit here in the bottom of the 10th.”

If, at first glance, you thought Kepp & Cody were holding hands….thanks, I know I’m not alone now.

OMG HAHAHAHA

OMG HAHAHAHA

I was craving dingerz from the start of the game.

After a close one with Beltran’s triple and Kepp’s double, it was only a matter of time before the Giants finally fulfilled my craving.

YES. WANT MOAR.

YES, TRADE ACQUISITIONS.

Oh, and it’s about time they got some 2-out shit goin’.

Madison Bumgarner and Jeff Keppinger.

Just what the doctor ordered to treat the massive outbreak of severe Giants depression.

Bring in the cows and the Kepp-Kepp, horrays!

Keppinger just keeps showing us that he’s our best 2011 trade acquisition.

MY PHONE DIED IN THE 10TH INNING. I HAVE AT&T. AT&T HAD TO DIE FOR MARK DEROSA TO LIVE.

THIS IS MY LATE-INNING MAGIC FOR EVERYONE.

YAY FOR A SUCCESSFUL MLB DEBUT FOR ERIC SURKAMP; ONCE AGAIN I’M GLAD I WAS ABLE TO WITNESS HIM. AND YAY FOR A KEPPINGER’D WALK-OFF WIN.

This team and their injuries, man. I can’t even focus on losing anymore. I just want to be done with these shit injuries.

This team and their injuries, man. I can’t even focus on losing anymore. I just want to be done with these shit injuries.

So to sum up the last few hours:

  • Sergio Romo placed on DL.
  • Carlos Beltran placed on DL.
  • Miguel Tejada activated.
  • Nate Schierholtz injured.
  • Jeff Keppinger injured.
  • Aaron Rowand injured.

Aubrey Huff remains immortal.

The DL is comin’ for ya’! RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!

INJURIES FOR EVERYONE. TEARS TO GO AROUND. I’LL START.

Sometimes I wonder how players would feel if they were traded away to a team that’d actually help them out.

How would Bumgarner feel if he was on a team that got him wins?

How would Belt feel if he was on a team that gave him playing time?

I’m pretty sure that Pence was eventually thrilled to be on a winning team, just as Keppinger and Beltran are.

My feelings, summed up. Damn you, Sabean.

Jeff Keppinger leaps and snags a line drive in the 7th.

Not as epic as Freddy’s Game 4 World Series catch, but still a great one.

Keppinger not in the line-up today. Keppinger’s flight was delayed, so there’s that, but Pablo and Schierholtz are also not in the line-up today. We’re facing the Dodgers’ ace and our two hottest hitters aren’t in. I’m guessing Bruce is sitting Nate out because of the lefty match-up, but it’s definitely a cause of concern for the Panda. Hoping his quad tightness just needs another day of rest before he can go out again. Last thing we need is for Sandoval to be out for more than an couple days.

Line-up:

  • Torres CF
  • Fontenot 3B
  • Rowand LF
  • Ross RF
  • Belt 1B
  • Burriss 2B
  • Stewart C
  • Crawford SS
  • Lincecum P
Post-game Notes: July 19, 2011 Giants-Dodgers (5-3)
Brandon Belt’s tired of getting cornered, grabbed, and thrown back to Fresno. He had his gameface throughout the entire game, even during his solo homer and two-run game-winning double. Welcome back, Baby Giraffe. I’m sure all of us will have a problem if we have to go back to using the #FreeBrandonBelt tag.
Madison Bumgarner’s outing tonight, if you disregard the three-run third inning blip he had, was an absolute gem. It’s also the first time MadBum received more than three runs of support at home with five, and Belt drove in three of those runs (a lot of three’s in this paragraph). He was absolutely dealing. Aside from the third inning, he went 1-2-3 in all the other seven innings he pitched. Stats for the night: 8IP, 4H, 0BB, 7K, 3ER. Like I said in a previous post, his ERA would be pretty damn close to sub-3.00 if it wasn’t for that one horrible outing in June.
Small note: this makes five times over the last six games where the Giants have scored four or more runs. Good god, I hope this continues.
Even with the amount of time they missed, you think Pablo has a shot at a Golden Glove and Belt contending for ROY? The Panda doesn’t just have a hot bat, but he is absolutely incredible on defense this year. Spectacular plays this week. He was taken out for a tight quad, though. He should be good to go tomorrow, but the last thing we need is for Pablo to be injured again.

Pretty excited to see our new trade acquisition in action tomorrow. Jeff Keppinger will be getting the start at second in the series finale with the aces Lincecum and Kershaw. Definitely a solid trade for what we gave up. Good bat and great fill-in for that black hole we seem to have at second base.
We have beaten LA, and we have done it six straight. Today marked the first time the Giants have taken six in a row from the Dodgers since 1969. Let’s make it seven for the sweep tomorrow behind Timmy! #BEATLA
